The Foot

There are many types of feet out there for amputees to use. Generally you are working with a tradeoff when picking a foot. The softer, "bouncy" feet tend to be easier to use, but they require more energy. The stiffer feet, are more "energy storing", but are a little more difficult to use. The The stiffer feet are the type of feet that the above knee amputee runners use. Running for 15 seconds is not the only kind of success an above knee amputee is looking for. So, remember to pick a foot that will prove useful not only for athletic endeavors, but for every day walking (unless you are lucky enough to have 2 legs, one for athletics, one for every day use).
