In order to provide a higher level of service, AboveKneeAmputee.com™ is now offering membership. Membership involves a one-time fee sent to AboveKneeAmputee.com. Members can be amputees, family members of amputees, or anybody else that feels like they could benefit from membership. Members will get access to AboveKneeAmputee.com's Members Area.

Benefits that members will receive:

Benefit #1
You get priority on email replies from      AboveKneeAmputee.com (The reality is that AboveKneeAmputee.com does not yet have the financial resources to pay a larger staff. Therefore, we have limited ability to answer emails).   We will continue to try to answer all emails, however members will get their emails answered in the most timely manner

Benefit #2
Members will be able to post messages on our Members Only Message Board which resides in the members only area.   This is a great way to post in a more private environment.

Benefit #3
AboveKneeAmputee.com will email members with "Newsflashes" as well as post them in the Member's Area. Newsflashes will contain new information related to above knee amputees. Examples include new product introductions (a new type knee, foot, etc.) or announcements of amputee events

Benefit #4
Members can send "their story" to AboveKneeAmputee.com and it will get posted on the site in the Members Area. "Your story" would be about what you as an amputee, or family member, or friend of an amputee have experienced.    Things that might be addressed are the physical, mental and emotional challenges. The stories can be posted on the site with your name or a pseudonym.

Members can correspond with our Amputee Email Helper.   This is a quick turnaround email service. The Amputee Email Helper will respond in 3 days or less.

Benefit #6
Members will be able to look at other amputees comments about our "Highly Rated Prosthetists".   This allows amputees to make better decisions when picking a prosthetist.    There are extensive comments about several of the prosthetists in the members area, and we will be always adding more comments as we get them

Benefit #7
We have a "voting booth" in the members area. This is a place where members can answer questions and then see how others voted. The questions deal with many aspects of being an above knee amputee. We change the questions periodically

You will get priority on all future features that might be added to the site.   AboveKneeAmputee.com plans to keep most of the site free, but there may be future additions to the site that can only be accessed by members. Current members will be automatically included.   Even if you do not need a higher level of service now, membership will ensure that you will be prepared for any future need of a higher level of service.
