Phantom Pain, am I going insane?

My amputation is three weeks old today and I'm virtualy pain free, but what is up with the phantom pains it is as though my leg was still there but it is asleep, it itches sometimes, is there any relief or am I just imagining this. Vicoden does nothing to help.
