Karen,

"Normal" to me means living a life as close to the one that I lived before the amputation. It doesn't have anything to do with how I look. I know I can not change that and I don't try to hide the fact that I have lost a leg. I don't try to look "normal", only live normal, by wearing the most hi-tech materials that are available to me, that will allow me to do things the way I am use to doing them. I want to be able to do the things I use to do, the way I use to do them and not the way others think I should have to because of my "disability". There is nothing "normal" about being an amputee, most of us were not born amputees. I don't think there is anything wrong with somone wanting a little more out of prosthetic technology, just so they can continue to live the "normal" life that we have all gotten used to.
