: I have been coming to this board everyday since I found it some time in December. I have read some very interesting comments (mostly on Equipment)and everyones choices.I guess I don't have choices..... My Case Manager is handling it I'm told, I have been waiting for a custom manual chair for months and I 've seen My Prosthetics man once, and that was in the hospital when they put a shinker on my right leg,Luckily they left me 2 of them and when it came time for the left one they gave me no other shinkers.
: I like to think of myself as level headed but I really do have no choices in this matter at all my Case Worker called this week and said she got the prices all worked out with the Prothesis. So I wonder what that will intail. I know they had told me at least 25,000 for both legs in the hospital how I'm scared I'll end up with a washtub and a wooden stick Sorry the be so negative but I feel like I have no control

Hi Racechaser, it was very funny the way you stated your situation as” I'll end up with a washtub and a wooden stick “
That’s not negativity but comedy to me
Its good you can make a little fun of your situation
I can understand you being a little scared
Try and Hang in their for you are so blessed its just the wait.
Hears some true-life stories that may make you laugh
My wife use to Kid me that if I didn’t find work soon, shed drop me off at a street corner with a pair of blind man glasses and a cardboard box.

Or my mother told me that if I didn’t start using my artificial leg that she was going to use it for firewood.

One of my redneck buddies Tom said he was going to hang me by binding my Hands and good leg then setting fire to my wooden leg.

I hope you laugh a little bit as well, because waiting for those people to get their act together you need the patience of a Sain.

The good thing is that they have agreed to finance the leg, so try to be patient, there seems
To be little one can do to speed up the process short of a of a lawyer
Or do you think there is a conspiracy between the Hospital and the limp company to squeeze as much revenue out of you Insurance Company. (just Kidding)
Stay in the Race
Ernie
