I am very proud of who I am and I will never allow any member of society to "pigeon hole" me because of who I am. In Canada we have laws and protocols which prohibit people from discriminating against me because of who I am. I do not want to be a facsimile of what other people may expect me to be. : : I choose to walk with crutches, one- legged, when that is more convenient or comfortable. I chose to walk with a prosthesis without cosmetic cover when that is more convenient or practical. I really don't care wether others see me as disable, enabled, or a freak - but a firmly beleive that most people see me as who I am - one legged me, and that I am proud to be me. I have the choice, and I choose to be what I am, not what others may like me to be. : : Karen, you contribute enormously to othes by your caring, frank, and open advice and encouragement on this forum. I hope that the controversy does not discourage you.
