Are there better limbs available for amputees?Posted by Carol in NJ on February 13, 19101 at 14:46:37: My father is 89 years old and lost his left leg (above knee) in Aug. 00. His prostethic seems clumsy and hard to use. (He has a metal bar for a leg with a metallic knee joint) He is very depressed and is loosing his will to live. I am wondering if there are other types of prostethic legs that are easier to use, other options? Even a word of encouragement will be helpful. Any answer or support is appreiciated and may be helpful to others as well. Please advise. Sincerely....Carol
