I shared that same great feeling when I put my weight on my socket for the first time. I am curious why it is going to take so long to finish your leg. My prosthetist said the hard part is making the socket and the rest is just putting stock components together. After my socket fit properly, the rest was assembled in less than 2 hours and I walked out with my leg using only one crutch. I wore it 6 hours the first day and 12 hours the second. It was great getting off my crutches and being able to carry things. I can pick up my 43 pound son and take a few steps around the house and not worry about falling. I went back to work yesterday and spent an entire day at my office wearing my leg. Good Luck, Herb Hey Herb thanks for your response, the parts for my knee were not available at the time, but I have learned patience if nothing else. It is so great to hear how well you did on your new leg I look forward to reporting news as good as yours. Good luck and congratulations on your success.
