I couldnt agree more with Tim's sentiments. As I have mentioned b4 on the board, I never had any other legs at all and the c-leg is the only prosthetic I have ever had. So, I really have no basis of comparison. However, that being said, when I am at my prosthetist' office rehabbing, the other AKs watch with envy as I walk almost effortlessly. When I say Ive only been in a leg for 1 month and had my surgery on 10/18, they freak out! My prosthetist says I walk as well after 4 weeks as people do in a year. I hit golf balls this weekend and yesterday I went to the gym and shot hoops. (I even beat my friend at horse in one game).

We ALL deserve the best thing available to make our lives as "normal" as possible. Sure, the cost is exhorbitant. But, unless we as a collective convince the insurance companies that these things are necessary for our lives, the prices will maintain, the ins. cos. will deny and we will be greatly disserviced.
I just found out from my prosthesist that Medicare is now approving C-Legs. He said he has been doing C-Legs like crazy lately. Also, if you are having problems getting the C-leg approved, John Michael has a 100% success rate in getting C-Legs approved. His number is 612-281-4290. He used to be a big wig with Otto Bock, the maker of the C-Leg. If anyone has anything negative to say about the C-Leg, read my post below "Reply to: C LEG". If you've never triend a C-Leg then keep your mouth shut until you do try it. It might be expensive but it is the closest thing to a human leg available, and it works! Anyone who thinks they can't wear a C-Leg or thinks it is just a rip off is a FOOL!
