Infection, should know betterPosted by Gerry C. on January 22, 19102 at 12:16:00:
I've been a double amputee for over 40 years and I got lazy and careless and got an infection in my left stump. I wear suction sockets and should wash them out everyday, which I did with soap and water. Around the holidays I put on weight and the sockets became hard to pull on. Even harder when I washed them out and they hadn't dried enought. Well I notice a little discomfort on friday and by Saturday It hurt a lot. So I lost two days not wearing them and now I'll use some rubbing alcohol every couple of days in addition to washing them out everyday. I had some antibiotics
