Rather than use the valve release button, I've gotten into the habit of always pushing the air out of the top and the side of the socket whenever I get up. You can also use the phrase, "That wasn't what you thought it was!" or, "My farts don't stink!". These tend to diffuse the embarassment with a little amp humour! All the best! Larry : HELLO. : I am a left AKA for 1 1/2 years now. I was wondering if anyone could possibly offer any solutions to the embarassing noise the socket can make when you move a certain way or get up and put weight on your leg from a sitting position to a standing position. I know tht you can try to push the plug button as you get up, but this doesn't always work. I would be committed if it happened and I told someone Oh excuse me that wasn't me shitting my pants it was my prosthetic. I have really gotten some disgusting looks and am speechless from mortification when it happens. My prosthesist just kind of laughs and says it is something I will have to learn to deal with and avoid if I can at all.
