Hi Adriano - I do a lot of swimming in the ocean and in lakes. I used to go in on crutches, but had trouble in heavy surf and on some slimy rocky beaches. I have a peg leg made out of 2" pvc pipe with a 4.5" diameter round "foot" and no knee. It attaches to my socket where the knee would be. It is very easy to walk with even in heavy surf. Sometimes I take my socket off after I am in the water and I slip it back on when I want to get out. Often I just leave it on and swim with it on. Because it is all plastic and rubber it is not harmed by water. It is much safer on slippery surfaces around pools than crutches. It works great. Herb
