Hi--I have been an amputee most of my life, and,like most of you who will read this, I am fiercely independent. I got married a few years ago, and now I have a WONDERFUL son. I am a partner in a small business, and feel truly blessed. Unfortunately, my income has not been able to keep up with the prices of new prostheses, and my insurance is of no help. Does anyone know of grants that are available to disabled,hard working people who still want to lead a productive, active life? I am 45, and love the outdoors. I can't wait to take my wife and son camping and backpacking. I would even volunteer to test specialty outdoor gear designed for handicapped individuals. Please reply---thanks
