: has anybody used a tinse unit for treating phantom pain? (i am not sure i spelled that right but maybe you get the idea) it has been 4 weeks today since mikes aka and we are really getting discouraged the phantom pain has not let up at all. Hi Mike & Tammy, The TENS units are used on all sorts of pain including post surgical & phantom pain for amputees. Hopefully your doctor or physical therapist has instructed to keep stump wrapped or wear shrinker. (swelling increases pain). Also every PT dept I have worked in has several TENS units they loan out to their out patients for trial use to see if there is any benefit before you spend the $$$$$$$. Much amputee pain reduces when you get fitted for socket & start walking. Hang in there- Donna
