Here is something to check out. In the weeks following my AK after a dirty injury I was dosed with Cipro, a very powerful antibiotic, which in some people irritates the bowel strongly. I found that when material was passing through the lower colon my stump and phantom were in heavy duty pain, which stopped when I had a bowel movement. Later I found out that in the somato-sensory cortex of the brain the foot and leg are immediately adjacent to the bowel and the genitals and that sensations arising in the gut are experienced as happening in the stump and phantom also. No more Cipro! Of course the up side of that picture was that erotic sensations also suffused the stump and phantom. Not all bad. Try it. (This is solid science.) GB.

: I am a BK amp and tomorrow will be 4 months and I'm still having phantom pains although they have gotten a lot more tolerable they are still here. Rembember to message the leg that helps with the circulation and can also help with the phantom pains. I have not tried the Tense machine but what works for me might not work for you the same with the magnets I use them for different things I'm going to try them on the phantom pains but like the Tense they might work for me but not for you. I hope your husband starts to feel some relief soon. Brenda RBKA :-) P.S try going to this chat room it is also a message board and asking the members there this question http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/4AmpsbyAmps.
