Hope your feeling some relief soon.
I'm going to be having my left leg loped off above the knee soon.
In '73 I was injured in a motorcycle accident,multiple lower leg trauma including loss of several inches of tibia,knee shattered into something resembling jelly (later fushion) snapped the pelvis in two, so on & all that.
They used up most of my iliac crests as for grafting the tib/fib, knee fusion & to clean-up an osteomyelitis mess that developed from the knee fusion. After 18 years the osteo has acted-up. Yeah they,re pitching a whole new procedure involving muscle relocation, bone grafting, etc. I'm opting for the amputation that I wanted back then. Also am having to get some back/disk repair work done thanks to all of those "saved" parts not quite working right (geometry is tough with all those little bits of bone). If it were me I'd save a lot grief by losing the garbage & gaining a new toy. Theres going to be a lot of pain either way, can't get around that.
