In the early days of my own traumatic amputation the prosthesis provided relief. Today, 17 years later, phantom pain is rare but it does rear its nasty head on occasion. Just keep on truckin' and it goes away. Most important, don't allow it to prevent your rehabilitation which includes learning to walk with a prosthesis. This is of course there are other medical reasons why that is not possible. : Does phantom pain hinder your ability to get used to wearing the prosthesis. Had my leg removed one month ago. Thanks Bruce
