i too am new to this message board stuff. all though i am a long time amputee.
i do not even know the type of knee i have or the type of leg for that matter. i do know that i have a pin at the end of my stump covering that fits into the socket. and i know that my knee is a pnumatic one. if that helps . i have read some of the messages and was very appaled at teh messages taht touted people as lazy whinny crips . well i do not work and am not able to work not just because of my amputation but some spinal cord injusrys as well and also a very painfull condition called fibromyalgia . amonge others. but that is enough "whinnning" for now . no i will not wear that from some one who has no idea who i am . i say to you sir that name calling never has gotten any one very far in life and i hae been called names since i was a tiny little girl and different from the ohter kids. ( no one else wore an artificial leg.) so i know the pain it can cause . i hope for you sake that you never have to feel that pain . i do spend my time helping as i can and doing things for otheres if i can . i have a few questions for the group if you dont mind.
1) are there any chat rooms to speak with other amputees , that do not cost money to join?
2) i know no other amputees and would like to have some input about personal things from time to time ( in regard to my amputation) from other women . are there any out there woh would like to email back and forth or something?
