Quentin, I too am 40 and lost my leg in 97 to a motorcycling accident(LAK). Sounds like you have a fit problem causing your pain. It took me almost 5 years to find a prothetist who would listen to me. That is the key to a good fit, someone who will listen and work with you. As for getting down hill, I too have a hydralic knee and if the terrain is steep I lock mine and then just work my way down the hill the best I can. You have to have confidence in yourself and your equipment. Then it is just trail and error. We all attack our problems differently. I too know about the why me blues, but as you said it can always be worse. Feel free to e-mail me I would be glad to help in any way I can, if only just to listen. I was told that you can do anything you did before your loss, it may just take alittle more effort than before. Just don't give in to the why me blues, then you will get nowhere. Why not start by driving a few golf balls, you never know . If you want to do something you will find a way to do it. Keep your chin up and keep at it!!!!!!!
