I have usually found that wearing my limb definitely helps with the pain, particularly in case of the "Pins and Needles" type of phantom pain.

Quite often, I will get these tingling sensations for several days at a time, and one of the best things I can do is to walk. While I am walking, the sensations subside for the duration.

If I am home and not wearing my prosthesis, I use a product called Farabloc. It is a linen type cloth enmeshed with steel fibres invented specifically for dealing with phantom pains. For more information regarding Farabloc, I have included a link to their website below. Another option you may want to consider is having the Farabloc fabric laminated directly into the socket of your prosthesis.

Good luck with your situation. Maybe we'll hear from you again!

Regards,

Larry

: Does phantom pain hinder your ability to get used to wearing the prosthesis. Had my leg removed one month ago. Thanks Bruce
