USA Health Insurance is a Joke!!Posted by Mike on December 18, 19102 at 19:47:58: Hi all, I'm a first time poster on this board. I'm 24 and lost my left leg AK to cancer when I was 10. Cost of legs was not an issue when I was younger because I got them for free through Shriners hospital (and boy did I break them ALOT!). I'm mainly posting because I need to "vent" some anger about health insurance and thier coverage on "medical equipment" (a leg in my case). I work for a well known hospital and have what is supposely great health insurance (aetna) however they only cover one leg per lifetime lol. So say I break my Seattle foot tomorrow and get it repaired then I go to get my new leg made next year, I have to pick up the cost of the foot...1 per lifetime. After I graduated from college I temporarily went on Medicare until I found a good paying job. The funny thing is Medicare covered all costs of legs, not one per life time. So the moral to the story quit working, collect welfare and get medicare and you can have all the repairs and new legs you will ever need. How wrong is the health care system in this country!?!!?
