I went quite a few years early on thinking all plans were like that - and kept saving my own money for seven years for a new prosthesis while limping along on an old poorly fitting one. I finally went to get a new one and found that coverage had improved and another leg was now covered. I have actually had more plans that do not have such limits though. My current employer is switching to a different plan for 2003. My prosthetist tells me the new plan is quite good - there are really no limits and they quite readily cover the c-leg. To the extent I can plan for anything I always try to get new legs or major rework done while I know I have good insurance coverage. Hi thanks for the reply, after looking at my place of work's health insurances I did notice one thing I can do--switch insurance plans ;-). Apparently they have a few insurance plans here that offer that same one leg per lifetime deal so come next year I will be switching insurance to blue shield to get my one leg on that policy...I know it may seem a little unethical but I guess ya gotta do what you gotta do.
