I must say that the conclusions from these "studies" do not agree with my own 20 years of AK prosthetic experience. There is absolutely NO DOUBT as to the superiority of the C-Leg over other hydraulic knees. The effort is FAR less and the trust is infinitely greater. It's a no brainer!

The article describes 2 studies of extremely poor design and uses questionable logic to form conclusions. How else would you describe the competance of a "researcher" who writes: "they found significantly less peak ankle plantar flexion from toe-off through swing for patients wearing the C-Leg than for the nonamputee subjects." What on earth does any hydraulic knee have to do with plantar flexion? Dah!!!

If this article accurately describes the study designs and conclusion it is far to question the motivation of the training, qualifications, and motivation of the "researchers".

I have become VERY cynical after watching and experiencing the devious machinations of insurers attempting to maintain a cheaper cost of doing business. ALL TO THE DETREMENT OF A PATIENT WHO IS UNINFORMED, HAS LIMITED RESOURCES, AND IS GENERALLY HELPLESS TO FIGHT.

Wheel chairs are even cheaper than any prothetic leg but of course you can't really trust them while going down slopes because they tend to accelerate.

: I would like the opinions of C-leg users to the following article about recent studies involving the C-leg.
