I think it speaks more directly to trust in the prosthesis, particularly after a few bad spills. If an AK Amputee breaks an arm or leg or collar bone he/she is for all practical purposes a double amputee until the casts are removed and a new rehab is completed. There is no question that the 'Smart Knee' is safer... No matter what the insurance companys would like you to believe. It ain't about paying for a 'Delux' device, as this lady was told. : In my long insurance story I failed to point out that he used a cane before with his prep but with the c-leg and the confidence it inspired he no longer needed a cane.
