I am not going to judge Mark for what he did.
But for those that visit this site, and read the message boards, I would like to say something.
Yes, above knee amputation and the trial to start walking again can been brutal to anyone no matter how strong they are. However, I will say that life can get good again post-amputation.
But, to really heal yourself, I personally believe you need to use this crisis in your life to explore spirtuality or further your already existing spiritual beliefs.
Even with two great god-given legs, this world can be very cruel. So, we need to not be too attached to this world no matter what our situation is. Once you understand that this world is really very temporary to us, then you can let go of some of the pain you might feel about how much you have lost.
What I am basically saying is don't focus on this world, but instead focus on what is not of this world.
That said, for now, you still have to get up and go to work, take care of the kids, etc. So, find a way to do it and keep going. If you have had it with artificial legs, go to a wheelchair for a while. Adapt and move on.
If you feel suicidal, recognize the feeling for what it is and get some help. I personally believe that if God hasn't taken you yet, he still has plans for you!! Just because you have a disability doesn't mean he can't still use you!!!
Remember, as you work on your mobility, also work on your faith! The world can take your leg or anything else away from you in a split second. Nothing can take away your faith!!!
