I'm 47 and have been right AKA for about 21 years. The older you get the more the old weigh creeps up on you.

I do make a point of staying fit but fitness and exercise never came naturally to me and I don't love exercising and working out. Actually I like it when I'm done doing it and I don't even mind it once I get started. But I think I'm kind of a low energy person - I'd rather read a book, take a nap, do something on the computer, watch something on TV, etc. In any case, I do try to stay somewhat active because I'm afraid the less I do the less I'll be able to do. Here are some things I do:

Walking - not all days are good walking days but on a good day I walk about 1 - 1.5 miles.

Exercise bike - Airdyne - this is really good cardiovascular exercise but boring. It is good though when you only have one leg.

Kayaking - this is really good cardiovascular and upper body if you push yourself

Regular bicycle - this can be good if you have enough hills. It's fun to get out and cover some ground.

Abdominal exercise routine that I learned on a cruise ship

Free weights and resistance bands for upper body workout - I just have this stuff at my house

Stretching routine - that I learned in a book and on fitness video for amputees

Yoga - I got video on this - seated yoga - it was good but I haven't done it much

Tennis - I haven't done this for awhile. I played tennis when I had two legs. I can't cover the court well enough to really play now but it is fun to hit the ball and good exercise. I do this with my husband.

Cross country skiing - tried this a couple times. I haven't quite got this figured out.

Overall exercise bike and weights are the things I've done the most but since that is so boring I've tried to figure out more fun things to do.
