That makes sense... I conclude from what you say that normal walking (4 to 6 mph rate) UP a slope or on a flat surface should not injure the hydraulic or microprosessor components. It's the downhill stuff, with a flexed knee fighting gravity, that does the damage.

: : When I took the c-leg course many years ago they told a story about an amputee that lived in the mountains in europe and everyday he took a long downhill walk and took a tram back up. his hydraulic unit got so hot he inadvertantly got a sight burn when he touched the hydralic unit somehow. He was riding the hydraulics down every step and that would generate more heat than normal treadmill stuff (the unit is only decellerating the shin and not someones full body weight) get on the tradmill and go !!!!
