Nancy, Why don't you repost your situation and questions on the new Support Message Board. I bet a lot of people don't come into the archived messages. This insurance situation makes no sense at all. Perhaps a wider audience will reach someone who has experienced the same problem and solved it. : : : : : Nancy : : How long have you had the leg? It's not covered anymore? You've got to be kidding me about the ins. co. they are unbelievable. If it was a real knee wouldn't they approve surgery to fix it? I know all about the ins. co. , they don't want to cover anything, I'm fighting mine now to cover acupuncture for pain relief, they'll pay for vicadin and any other pain med , but not for something that might actually help instead of popping pills. Please let us know whats going on, is your knee working at all? Good Luck. : : Jen : : I've had it for over 4 years. It was working, but not the way it should have been. Right now I have a loaner. The insurance company told me that they will only cover standard equipment. I told them that I thought a functioning knee was pretty standard. Also, it is far more cost effective to repair the knee rather than replace it which they would need to pay for. They denied it, I called and talked to them and they still denied it. They said that a c-leg was not covered and neither were the repairs. As the next step, I will need to write a letter of appeal.
: Nancy
