Hi Mick,

I think all of us AK's have dealt with this "rubbing raw" from one time or another. I've always gone back to my leg guy when I've had this problem. Sometimes flaring out the top rim of the socket just a bit(in the areas that it's rubbing)will help. Or, cutting that area of the socket down just a bit might give you relief. It's really an issue that your leg guy needs to fix for you. Something you can do, in conjunction with the above, is to use a lubricant on those sensitive areas before putting your leg on. I use Prosthetic Skin Lotion by Alps, given to me by my leg guy. You just put a tiny bit (pea size) on the problem area and it does help with the rawness. But, be sure to have your leg guy make some adjustments to the rim because the lotion alone isn't going to solve your problem.

Good luck!
Cheri
