I am a 33y/o survivor of bone cancer 21 years ago with limb sparing surgery at that time. I have had numerous revisions of internal componets and now have a broken femur and am facing more surgery. I have decided to have an elective AKA. I have a 2 yr old and have had so many limitations and daily pain, that I feel this would be a new lease on life. The major thing on my mind is the psychological aspect post op. I know this is my decision, but has anyone NOT had a depression/sadness after surgery?
