It's kind of hard to explain . . . .A little more than a year ago I had it sent in because it just didn't feel right. For example, going down steps, there wasn't the resistence that I had previously had - I didn't fall and continued to go down steps, step-over-step but it didn't feel right. Also, I was stumbling some. Anyway, it needed a $1200 repair. It's doing the same thing now. Also, after wearing for a normal day, it's almost dead - it hasn't discharged (yet) but it not very "lively" either. Also, even thoughI don't use the 2nd mode, I couldn't if I wanted to because I can't get it to change. It just seems like there are signs that indicate I should replace it if I could. The insurance company gave me a hard time last year when I repaired it (I really thought I should get more than 5 years out of it) so I didn't think they would agree to repair it. They initially denied the request for a new leg, however my Dr. wrote a more detailed need for replacement and they determined it was medically necessary and approved it.

I have one of the first c-legs after they came out in the US and have been happy with it. I will probably go with it again but thought I would check out the "new game in town".

: Nancy - just curious - is something wrong with your cleg itself after six years? Or is it more of a general need for new socket, etc. Mine is now a little over three years old - just wondering what to expect after six.
