pain after operation

How long it is necessary to take pain medication after above the knee amputation?
My grandma had her leg amputated 48 hours ago and they are not giving her ANY pain medication, she is screaming in pain. I think since she is old and can not express herself she is being igrored. If the Dr's wife had her leg amputated I am pretty sure she would be getting more than Tylenol.
Please let me know what is reasonable.
