I went with my prosthetist to a Rheo leg launch on Tuesday. The knee is quite heavy (1,7kg's). The speaker there said that he didn't think that anyone who was happy with a c-leg would choose to move over. He said that the Rheo is a more active and heavy leg and that the c-leg was easier to amble with. If that makes any sense or helps in any way.

I tried to use the Rheo and I just couldn't make it work for me. I don't know if it was too strong for me, but I couldn't get going on it. There was another amp there, a very tall strong man, and he loved the leg. We both were using Total 2000's before.

The manufacturers will let you test drive one for a couple of weeks. Same as the other ossur products.

Give it a go - you'll never know unless you try.

: Has anyone worn both a c-leg and Rheo? What are the advantages? Disadvantages? I've had a C-leg for 6 years and insurance just approved replacement so would be especially interested in any experiences people have had with the Rheo knee.

: Thanks
